Draw Clouds in photoshop!!!

Step 1

Create a new document with 600 pixels Width, 420 pixels Height and 72 pixels Resolution.  Keep Mode on RGB color.



Step 2

Fill the background with a Linear Gradient from #4d99ca to #2c7bb4.  Give the gradient effect by holding the mouse from the down of the left side to the up of the right side.




 Your document will look like this.




Step 3

Create a new layer.  Name this layer cloud.  Take Elliptical Marquee Tool to create the cloud shap.  To give proper cloud shap, hold down shift key while selecting with Elliptical Marquee Tool.



Step 4

Fill the selected area with White color. For this click Paint Bucket Tool and select the forground color to #ffffff. Click on the selected area.



Step 5

Create a duplicate layer of Cloud layer by draging Cloud layer to Create a new layer icon or click ctr+j. 



Step 6

Add some layer effects on this duplicate layer. For this do right click on this duplicate layer and select Blending options.



Step 7

Apply Outer Glow, Gradient Overlay and Stroke effect with following settings.

Step 8

Merge the cloud copy and cloud layer by clicking the cloud copy layer and then Layer > Merge Down.

Step 9

Duplicate the cloud layer. Resize it by clicking ctr+t.  Place the shapes where ever you like.


Step 10

Select the Text tool and write the name of your website with the font you want. I used Eras Bold ITC with 72pt.



Step 11

Give some Outer Glow and Stroke effects to your text also. See the following setting;




So, create a logo of your website with clouds!!!

  1. Great beginner tutorial. I think in Step #7, your second image is duplicated. It doesn't seem to be the Gradient Overlay screen. Also, in the first step, you might want to explain how to do a gradient background. I Google'd and figured it out. Some of us beginners really are just getting our feet wet. I hope you do more Photoshop tutorials. Learning it has been on my list for a long time. Thanks!
